D.A.L. RAIN SEASON ARUBA

After rain comes sunshine…AND MOSQUITOES!

There’s  these uninvited guests that always keep appearing at our BBQ parties and outdoor chillings…MOSQUITOES, the eternal struggle. We just want them to leave us alone, be gone! Unfortunately recent stormy weather have resulted in flooding, which provide the perfect breeding ground for even more mosquitoes.

Wait! they can even fly in the rain? YES!

As we’ve informed before, mosquitoes can breed in as little as ½ inch of water, they lay their eggs on wet surfaces and seeing that they can lay 100 eggs at a time, they spread them around that bucket over there, that old tire just being a show piece in your backyard and cans lying around. We cannot emphasize enough the importance of keeping these areas as dry as possible and off course a clean yard.

Scientists have found out that mosquitoes determine their prey using chemical sensor, visual sensor and heat sensor…but do not fool yourself, the Female mosquito is NOT PICKY! She might prefer some human sweats and body odor over others but food is food, blood is blood to them. And when they bite, it does more than just take some of your blood. It injects your blood with anticoagulant, so that the blood don’t clog and it’s easier for them to consume it. This anticoagulant chemical is why the bite itches and can result in allergic reaction. Other than itch and allergic reaction? They carry diseases like Zika, Dengue and Chikungunya !! Not to scare you but it can happen with only ONE bite, it’s time to take mosquito control seriously.

These upcoming days, mosquitoes’ eggs will be hatching more than any time this year to date. So take the time to walk around your property and locate areas of standing water and drain these breeding grounds. To be fair, we know how hard it is to find ALL the places that mosquitoes are/will breed in, that is why we recommend to get mosquito control sprayed.

And that’s where we come in, D.A.L. Pest Control is here to help you with residential and commercial treatments against mosquitoes. Give us a Call, or fill in our contact form to schedule your FREE inspection!
